
Why we stopped building “disposable” mirror heaters
Bathrooms are brutal on electronics. You’ve got constant steam, wild temperature swings, and humidity that just doesn’t quit. Eventually, that wear and tear catches up to the heating elements. Here is the problem: usually, when one tiny tube burns out five years down the road, you’re stuck. You have to rip the entire mirror assembly off the wall just to fix one small part. It’s a nightmare. We decided there’s a better way. We switched to a modular infrared setup. The “throw-away” problem Most heaters on the market are hard-wired. If one section dies, the whole unit is basically scrap metal. It’s frustrating and wasteful. We built our modules so you can just swap out the broken piece without touching the rest of the frame. What used to be a full-system replacement is now a ten-minute job. How it actually works We use standardized footprints and quick-connect terminals. No permanent solder joints, no messy wiring. You just pull the dead tube out and drop a new one in. You don’t even have to mess with the power supply. Now, this approach isn’t “free.” It takes up a bit more space and requires a more precise housing to make sure the heat doesn’t warp the mirror frame. But honestly? I’d rather have a slightly larger footprint if it means the system lasts for decades instead of a few years. Real-world repairs If you’ve ever tried to fix something behind a bathroom mirror, you know it’s a tight squeeze. You’re cramping your hands into tiny gaps with almost no room for tools. By going modular, we got rid of the need for heavy equipment during a repair. You just unplug the failed module, slide it out, and slide a new one in. Look, we spec these tubes to handle years of heating and cooling, but filaments eventually wear out. That’s just physics. When it happens, the mirror stays on the wall and the heater gets fixed. Simple. Practical. Done.
