If a single drop of cold water hits that scorching glass, the sudden temperature drop can cause it to shatter. It’s basic physics, but it’s a huge problem in a bathroom. To fix this, we use explosion-proof quartz. It’s treated to handle those wild temperature swings without cracking. The Trade-offs (Because Nothing Is Perfect)
Getting these units wired up takes a bit of care. We use special gaskets to make sure those cable entries stay watertight, keeping that IP55 seal tight. But just a heads-up: “explosion-proof” doesn’t mean “indestructible.” If you hit the tube with something hard, it’s still going to break. Also, because the casing is so good at keeping water out, it can trap a bit of heat around the electronics. Give the unit some breathing room when you mount it. A Few Tips for Installation
When you’re wiring these in, double-check your ground connections. In a wet room, a floating ground is just asking for trouble. And please, use heat-resistant wiring. Standard wires can melt right near the tube sockets, and that’s a mess nobody wants to deal with. Keep it tight, keep it grounded, and you’re good to go.
